We have developed a proven technique to ensure that you learn exactly what you need to do.

Before the Seminar

  • You send us five pages of your writing or five e-mails along with your Business Writing Audit, a two-page self-assessment checklist. You do not have to write anything special for the seminar. Your sample pages may be letters, memos, e-mails, sections of reports, procedures, or any other documents that represent what you write every day.
  • We choose one page for you to work on during the seminar. This is called Your Working Sample.
  • For later use, we prepare detailed comments on two pages of the writing you sent and general comments on the other two. Your Business Writing Audit helps us respond to your concerns and goals.

At the Seminar

  • Six times, you use Your Working Sample to find your own strengths and weaknesses. This application of writing concepts to your own correspondence keeps you focused on what is most important for you.
  • By the end of the day, you can see what your patterns are, and you can apply new strategies to improve.

Personal Action Plan

  • You receive a Personal Action Plan we’ve prepared especially for you. This analysis of your writing includes our written comments and the icons you have worked with during the seminar. A Guide to Writing Exchange Icons helps you further understand our comments.
  • Our objective way of showing you versus simply telling you makes it easier for you to learn.

Writing Workout

  • In this very focused practice session at the end of the seminar, you use your Personal Action Plan to rewrite sections of the four pages we’ve analyzed. The Writing Workout lasts one hour in a one-day seminar or three hours in a two-day seminar.
  • In the three-hour Writing Workout, you receive one-to-one coaching from the trainer, and you create at least one new document.
