CoachingIf you want to improve your writing style but don’t have time to attend a seminar, we offer private coaching either in person or by mail. Your own writing is the central focus. Consequently, you don’t waste time on concepts you’ve already mastered.

Private Coaching includes the following materials:

In Person
We recommend two coaching sessions separated by one or two weeks. Each session is two hours.

Our review of ten pages of your unedited correspondence helps us tailor the training to meet the needs we identify. A Writing Exchange coach discusses each document with you to point out your strengths and weaknesses and offer alternatives. Between the two sessions, you send us new writing for another review. These documents are the primary focus for the second coaching session.

By Mail
If you’re motivated to read and study on your own, you can benefit from Coaching by Mail.

    Part One
You send us five pages of your unedited correspondence. A Writing Exchange coach reviews these documents and sends back:

    • A letter that highlights your strengths and suggests areas for improvement.
    • Detailed comments on each page to emphasize what’s working and what’s not.
    • A suggested revision of one page. This serves as a model for new writing.
    • A Personal Action Plan that offers specific direction.
    • Specific reading assignments in two books.

You’re welcome to contact us with questions via fax or e-mail.

    Part Two
After trying out the new techniques we suggest, you send us three new pages of writing. A coach sends you more suggestions and ideas.
